Hearing Aids

Receiver-in-Canal (RIC)
-
RIC/RITE hearing aids are the most popular style — and for good reason. They’re discreet, comfortable, and strike the perfect balance between size and performance. The receivers can be swapped out if your hearing changes, so they’re flexible for the future.
-
Because the speaker sits in your ear canal, it’s more vulnerable to ear wax and moisture, which can mean extra cleaning or servicing.
Completely-in-Canal (CIC)
-
CICs are discreet and are almost invisible. They don’t interfere with glasses or masks.
-
If your ear canals are very narrow, your ears may not accommodate this model. This will only be known either at the impression stage or at the point of manufacture.
They also have less room for extras like Bluetooth, advanced microphones, or high-power options. They can be exposed to more moisture due to sitting in the ear canal and may need a manufacturer’s repair from time to time.
Behind-the-ear (BTE)
-
BTEs are strong, reliable, and suit nearly every level of hearing loss. They’re durable, long-lasting, and usually the most resistant to dust and moisture — perfect if you want something robust.
-
Because the case sits behind your ear, they can sometimes clash with glasses. They’re not always the smallest option, but they pack in plenty of power and features.
