Hearing Aids

Behind-the-ear (BTE)
-
BTEs are strong, reliable, and suit nearly every level of hearing loss. They’re durable, long-lasting, and usually the most resistant to dust and moisture — perfect if you want something robust.
-
Because the case sits behind your ear, they can sometimes clash with glasses. They’re not always the smallest option, but they pack in plenty of power and features.
In-the-ear (ITE)
-
ITEs can be discreet — some models are almost invisible. They don’t interfere with glasses and larger styles are easy to handle if you don’t like fiddly parts.
-
If your ear canals are very narrow, you may not be able to wear the tiniest models.
They also have less room for extras like Bluetooth, advanced microphones, or high-power options. Because they sit in the ear, they’re more exposed to moisture and may need servicing a little more often.
Receiver-in-Canal (RIC)
-
RIC/RITE hearing aids are the most popular style — and for good reason. They’re discreet, comfortable, and strike the perfect balance between size and performance. The receivers can be swapped out if your hearing changes, so they’re flexible for the future.
-
Because the speaker sits in your ear canal, it’s more vulnerable to ear wax and moisture, which can mean extra cleaning or servicing.
